What Every Worship Song Ever Teaches Us About Evangelism
EASY ASG-C-DWhen I first started leading worship back in high school, learning new songs felt overwhelming. There were so many songs with so many chords! Then an experienced musician taught me something that changed everything: if you can play G, C, and D, you can play virtually any worship song. I wasn't intimidated anymore, and those three chords became my foundation for sixteen years of leading worship. And guess what? I had a similar experience with sharing the gospel once I learned these three verses: Romans 3:23: "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Romans 6:23: "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 10:9: "If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." 3:23 shows the problem we all share (sin). 3:23 tells us about the result of our problem (death/separation from God) and God's solution (Jesus). 10:9 tells us how we receive God's solution (declare and believe). TURKEY EGGROLLS? Our friends have a Black Friday tradition that sounds a bit off the wall, but is apparently amazing. The day after Thanksgiving, they take all their leftovers—turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, everything—and wrap it all up in egg roll wrappers, then fry them golden. They swear these "Thanksgiving egg rolls" are better than the actual meal. (BTW...we are definitely going to test it out today!)
